Talascend is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist an opportunity in Marion, IN.

OVERVIEW:


As a member of the Human Resources Group, you will provide leadership in HR and labor relations (LR) activities, supporting business objectives, mission, and culture. This role involves partnering with functional business leaders to enhance employee engagement, enforce contractual agreements, and develop strategic workforce planning initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Human Resources & Labor Relations
    • Partner with the HRLR Site Director to drive company culture, enhance employee experiences, and improve engagement
    • Promote a positive relationship with the union through consistent application of agreements
    • Negotiate and implement local and national labor agreements
    • Participate in Joint Leadership Meetings and ensure adherence to the Grievance Procedure
    • Provide HR leadership in areas such as talent planning, performance management, compensation, recruiting, and compliance
    • Manage employment administration for hourly, contract, and salaried employees
    • Conduct training on HR policies, labor relations procedures, and contractual agreements
    • Support business plan deployment and key HR initiatives
  • Labor Relations
    • Represent management in administering agreements with the union
    • Advise management on union-related matters and act as a liaison in negotiations
    • Maintain labor relations records, including grievances and agreements
    • Lead local negotiations and drive initiatives that enhance competitiveness and employee experience
    • Organize grievance cases, conduct investigations, and provide conflict resolution
    • Administer shop rules and proactively address workforce trends
  • Salaried Human Resources
    • Build relationships across the organization to integrate HR strategies with business objectives
    • Support talent management, leadership development, and succession planning
    • Facilitate HR meetings, compensation planning, and compliance with HR policies
    • Provide coaching, investigation support, and onboarding for new hires
    • Ensure accurate processing of HR transactions and maintain data integrity

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Strong interpersonal skills in facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines in an evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and proficiency in HR systems such as Workday and Kronos
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with experience in data-driven decision-making
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field
  • 3+ years of HR and labor relations experience; manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience in a unionized environment, UAW contract administration, and labor relations certification preferred
