Remote Business Analyst
SUMMARY:
We’re seeking a Business Analyst who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting large information technology projects for one of our clients, who is one of the top 10 largest electric companies in the U.S., headquartered in Long Island.
The Business Analyst will be providing technical application support for our utility client and will be required to coordinate system requirements with technical resources, project managers, and customers at various levels. Responsibilities will include analysis, change management, coordinating and tracking of information on high visibility and tightly scheduled large projects with customers and deadlines. The candidate will also be required to develop solutions that require depth of technical knowledge and understand through discussions with the technical team.
LOCATION:
- This is a remote position.
- Candidates in the NY/NJ area are preferred.
- Some travel may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop preliminary and detailed business requirements, use cases/user stories, software requirements, and process/workflow diagrams.
- Gather and evaluate information from multiple sources for project planning, requirements gathering, including interpreting high-level information; abstracting from low-level information to a general understanding; and evaluating user requests to perceive the underlying needs of the business.
- Communicate requirements and opportunities to all levels of the organization and to audiences of varying degrees of technical knowledge.
- Business analysis, including completion of deliverables following the IT PMO by project phases.
- Lead business requirements gathering workshops and document business requirements.
- Analyze current business processes and document process flows.
- Work with business stakeholders in developing business process flows.
- Utilize domain specific knowledge to work with business stakeholders to identify, specify and analyze business requirements and processes.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Research and develop emerging technologies, develop business cases and create pilot projects to test out new customer products and services prior to mass deployment.
- Coordinate with different teams to improve productivity on tasks/projects.
- US Citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years experience working as a Business Analyst.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Self-driven and have demonstrated the ability to work independently with minimum guidance.
- Demonstrated multitasking ability, problem solving skills and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects across different platforms with different project managers.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good understanding of technology platforms and ability to explain technical concepts to the business users in the context of business requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Utility experience greatly preferred.
- Previous experience with divestitures preferred.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow is preferred.
