Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Data Analyst for a remote opportunity. The customer this position will support is headquartered in Seattle, WA, and while the ideal candidate would reside locally, it is not required.

Overview

The Senior Data Analyst will support a large utility client by identifying and resolving data discrepancies across multiple systems. This role requires strong technical, analytical, and collaboration skills to ensure data integrity and develop future preventative controls.

Responsibilities

  • Identify data elements that may be out of sync between multiple systems
  • Determine the "source of truth" for each data element
  • Develop a data cleanup plan for each in-scope data element
  • Create a replication plan to sync data across systems
  • Develop future preventative controls to maintain data quality
  • Document current and future processes, including organizational change management assessment
  • Draft information/data architecture diagrams per team requirements
  • Draft statements of work (SOW) for future data cleanup and control projects
  • Engage with business customers at all levels, from front-line to executive leadership
  • Develop business requirements, use cases/user stories, software requirements, and workflow diagrams
  • Gather and evaluate information from multiple sources to support project planning and requirements gathering
  • Maintain knowledge of business processes and associated IT systems
  • Perform business analysis following BABOK standards
  • Develop deliverables using BPM within Visio, RFP templates, and traceability documentation
  • Support business analysis, organizational change management, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of business analysis experience in technology and business projects within the utility industry, including generation, transmission, and distribution
  • Extensive experience identifying data quality issues and developing action plans to clean and maintain data across multiple systems
  • Strong elicitation and communication skills
  • Experience applying BPMN and business process visualization
  • Proficiency in diagramming information/data architecture in Archimate
  • Working knowledge of the Prosci® ADKAR model
  • Experience with business process modeling, workflows, and data analysis
  • Demonstrated experience implementing COTS systems and/or replacing legacy systems

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CCB), Oracle Network Management System (NMS), and Work and Asset Management databases
  • Experience working with GIS databases
  • Business Analyst Certification (CCBA or CBAP)
  • Skilled in facilitating requirements gathering sessions with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience writing project documentation and deliverables
  • Ability to engage with all levels of management, including senior executives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with organizational change management and the Prosci® model
  • Knowledge of Lean or other Continuous Improvement processes
  • Experience with performance metrics development and monitoring
  • Familiarity with the RFP process, including requirements definition and vendor evaluation
