Sr. Business Analyst

Overview
The Sr. Business Analyst will support a large IT project focused on enhancing an Enterprise Budget Management Solution. The role involves leading workshops, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging business analysis best practices to migrate the current budget solution to the cloud, improve budgetary processes, and close feature gaps.
Responsibilities
- Utilize industry-standard business analysis best practices to elicit needs, document requirements, and recommend solutions.
- Conduct gap analysis workshops to understand current solution context, business processes, system context, and identify challenges and opportunities.
- Complete gap analysis of current state business processes and future solutions.
- Plan and monitor business analysis activities, manage requirements, and assess solutions.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to align opportunities with the customer’s mission and values.
- Work with Business Relationship Managers to ensure alignment with the Utility Technology Roadmap.
- Coordinate with the Solution Architect for technology and functionality alignment.
- Provide recommendations on priorities, budget use, and sequencing of opportunities.
- Engage with business customers at all levels, from front-line to executive leadership.
- Develop business requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements, and process/workflow diagrams.
- Gather and evaluate information from multiple sources to interpret high-level information and assess business needs.
- Communicate requirements and opportunities to various levels of the organization with different degrees of technical knowledge.
- Maintain knowledge of business processes and associated IT systems.
- Deliver business analysis documentation per project phases and PMO requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent education/experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of business analysis experience implementing technology and business projects.
- Proficiency in business analysis techniques, including functional decomposition, root cause analysis, use cases, and business rules analysis.
- Experience with business process modeling, workflows, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud migration and legacy system replacement.
- Expertise in stakeholder analysis, interviews, benchmarking, vendor assessment, and process modeling.
- Strong domain knowledge of enterprise budget solutions.
- Experience leading workshops and engaging stakeholders.
- In-depth budgetary knowledge.
- Business Analyst Certification (CCBA or CBAP).
- Familiarity with BABOK standards.
- Working knowledge of Prosci’s ADKAR model.
