A Talascend client in Norcross, GA has a need for a Design Engineer to design, test, and maintain electrical components and systems per customer technical specifications.

- Lead design reviews with the engineering team to ensure designs meet client requirements, applicable standards, and quality requirements
- Creation and refinement of technical schematics and diagrams to capture design intent and document the key aspects necessary to accomplish the manufacturing goals of a project
- Development of circuit designs based on customer input and operation requirements
- Creation and maintenance of technical documents such as bill of materials, installation and maintenance manuals, functional test plans, dedication and qualification plans, design specifications, etc. for each project
- Perform root cause, apparent cause and/or common cause analysis and testing activities, when required
- Provide technical support to customers
- Provide technical support to assemblers and integrators
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Maintain schedules through interaction with project management, engineering, production personnel, and customers ?
- Maintain ongoing project requirements and specifications for multiple projects
- Interaction with vendors to resolve design issues
- Provide all requirements necessary to procure items and services to purchasing
- Assign shelf life to applicable components
- Problem solve test failures, product and procedure related issues
- Review test data and verify if the results met established acceptance criteria
- Witness/audit activities at subcontractor/customer facilities when required
- Create equivalency evaluations for components and assemblies
- Support Sales in quoting process and find replacement components for obsolete items
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS or MS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program
- 3+ years of experience in design engineering, specifically in areas of design and risk mitigation, testing, and project management
- Strong Solidworks and AutoCAD experience required
- Experience with failure analysis methodologies and implementation
- Experience with Electrical Schematic software
- Experience with NFPA-70 National Electric code NEC requirements
- Nuclear industry experience preferred
- Experience in Circuit Board Design is preferred
- Experience working with procurement and materials vendors to ensure correct parts/materials are purchased and meet specifications of design
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to 1x per month)
