A Talascend client supporting Nuclear projects has a need for a Engineering Project Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of engineering projects from initiation to completion. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead a team of qualified cross-functional team designated to quote, execute and deliver the company’s material and service project opportunities.
  • Assist and perform project design engineering and procurement engineering functions. Ensure technical design integrity, create/review engineering documents, and address technical challenges.
  • Develop a detailed project plan for each assigned project and define the scope with input from other departments
  • Manage project scope, quality, and budget and ensure changes are documented and communicated appropriately
  • Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans. 
  • Develop a project schedule based on the customer’s need date and vendor lead times 
  • Coordinate outside testing and witnessing within budget
  • Identify resource conflicts and notify other Project Managers, Production, and Management as needed
  • Provide status updates and communicate any issues that require escalation to upper management
  • Follow-up with customers on outstanding approvals and sub-supplier reports, as necessary 
  • Meet work standards by following production, project management, quality, and customer service standards
  • Review, revise and implement project management and/or production procedures 
  • Assist in training production and/or project coordinators
  • Assist in Marketing activities by attending industry conferences, customer site visits, and supporting Sales team.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an  accredited program
  • 5+ years of project and/or production management experience with a Certificate in the discipline of Production/Project Management 
  • Understanding of product and services supplied by client and of the technical requirements to meet various Design, Dedication, & Qualification criteria
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet, Excel, Report Builder programs
  • Ability to create, review and understand production/project reports
  • Program Management and Project Management skills 
  • Budgeting and Financial Management expertise 
  • Team Leadership and People Management experience 
  • Process Improvement and Continuous Improvement knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Experience in the nuclear power industry is preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (up to 1x per month)
