Job Summary:
The Engineer V - Senior Project Engineer or Engineer VI - Project Manager will apply thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects affecting his or her organization. They will also apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. In addition, the Engineer V - Senior Project Engineer or Engineer VI - Project Manager will keep informed of new methods and developments affecting his or her organization and recommends new practices or changes in emphasis of programs, while working on programs of limited complexity and scope. The Engineer V - Senior Project Engineer or Engineer VI - Project Manager will be managing engineering projects and/or programs or supporting existing Project Managers who perform that role.
 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead a design project team for the organization and associated subconsultants
  • Stakeholder coordination and management as it relates to project(s)
  • Management of the design of engineering projects
  • Keep informed of new developments and requirements affective the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications
  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Proficient with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Lead project meetings and make presentations
  • Possess the leadership skills to navigate complex challenges and solutions
  • Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations
 
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
 
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • 7-10+ years prior experience
  • Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO
  • Member of professional practice organization, national board member or officer, national technical or policy committee member
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the work of other consultants
  • Supervise a staff of engineers and designers
  • Plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects or is responsible for an entire program of an organization
  • Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures
 
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
  • Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate work with staff necessary to complete assignments
  • Assist Program Manager in overseeing scopes, budgets, and schedules for program
  • Prepare proposals to provide professional services
