In this role, you will develop requirements and strategies for a first-of-a-kind nuclear facility design, review work products, and ensure seamless integration of civil, structural, and architectural design and construction efforts.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to effectively integrate structural input and requirements for nuclear plant design and analysis. Candidates should have extensive experience in civil/structural design for extreme and external hazards, project coordination, and performing owner’s acceptance reviews.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement structural design bases and strategies for plant design and licensing, including risk-informed, performance-based methodologies for extreme and external hazards.
- Create, maintain, and refine plant-level and system-level requirements and specification documents.
- Interface with multidisciplinary design teams to establish structural design criteria and performance requirements.
- Ensure licensing and code requirements are properly integrated into the design and aligned with regulatory strategies.
- Perform oversight reviews of civil, structural, and architectural work products for project acceptance.
- Provide subject matter expertise in civil, structural, and architectural integration for plant engineering decisions.
- Coordinate multi-system structural analyses, including soil-structure interaction (SSI), seismic modeling, external hazard fragility, and probabilistic risk assessments.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of design organizations, partners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Integrate plant design information into regulatory submittals supporting nuclear facility licensing.
