Talascend is currently seeking a Brake Line Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Southfield, MI.

OVERVIEW: 


As a Brakes Line Engineer, you will help develop braking components and technologies in production vehicles.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design and develop brake line components from initial concept to production, this may also include calipers, rotors, booster, modulator, fluid reservoirs, pedal box, hoses, pipes, harnesses, brackets.
  • Establish requirements for components based on desired system attributes.
  • Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate components in the most efficient way possible.
  • Design with excellence, with great attention to every detail.
  • Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs.
  • Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps for future vehicles.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 2+ years of automotive industry experience, focus on braking system design.
  • Personally designed brake components from concept to production.
  • Proven 3D CAD skills.
  • Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly.
  • Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection.
  • Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience.
  • Ability to Travel domestically and internationally.
  • BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Humility, passion, and a craving for learning.
  • Demonstrated ability of hands-on problem solving.
  • Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6.
  • Project leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles.
  • Knowledge of NVH principles.
  • Ability to run CAE analysis tools.
  • Driven-vehicle attributes development experience.
  • Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory.
