Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Communications Specialist for a contract opportunity in Houston, TX
Overview:
The Senior Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s internal communication efforts by developing clear engaging and visually appealing content that aligns with strategic goals. This role requires a blend of exceptional writing editing and visual communication skills to create impactful messaging that resonates with employees. The ideal candidate is not solely a graphic designer but someone with a balanced skill set adept at crafting compelling narratives designing effective visuals and aligning communication strategies with organizational priorities.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement internal communication plans to align with strategic goals and enhance employee engagement.
Create and edit content for various channels including memos newsletters intranet updates presentations and emails.
Design visual assets such as infographics brochures and multimedia content using tools like Adobe Creative Suite Canva and PowerPoint.
Translate complex ideas and new technologies into clear audience-focused messaging.
Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to ensure content accuracy and alignment with organizational priorities.
Analyze data from the Employee Experience Team shared mailbox and other feedback channels to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Utilize data and employee feedback to measure and refine communication strategies.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Employee Experience Team.
Support employee experience initiatives including Diversity amp Inclusion DampI programs with clear and concise communications.
Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling reporting and ad hoc support for the Employee Experience Team.
Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to support DampI and Employee Experience Team programs.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications public relations marketing or a related field preferred.
5 years of professional experience in corporate or internal communications public relations or a related field with demonstrated expertise in both written and visual content development.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Canva and MS Office video editing skills are a plus.
Strong project management organization and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments.
Experience creating data-driven communication plans that align with organizational goals.
Dependable and confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with WordPress SharePoint or similar tools for embedding multimedia content.
Background in change management communications for large-scale initiatives.
Experience measuring communication impact through analytics tools.
