Talascend is currently seeking a Associate Tool & Gage Technician for a contract opportunity located in Phoenix, AZ.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Set and adjust gages using precision instruments such as gage blocks and horizontal Trimos.
  • Receive comprehensive training to support gage calibration and maintenance per internal standards.
  • Maintain accurate electronic inventory and calibration records using SAP or similar database systems.
  • Handle the receiving, storage, issuing, and delivery of perishable tooling, fixtures, gages, shop supplies, and safety items (PPE).
  • Assist in the issuance and return of gages and tooling from Manufacturing, Assembly and Test, and outside vendors.
  • Support and contribute to high levels of internal customer satisfaction.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and follow direction from supervisors and management.
  • Identify and solve moderately scoped problems, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Uphold all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Familiarity with gage blocks, horizontal Trimos, and other precision measurement devices.
  • Basic working knowledge of SAP or other database/inventory management systems (training provided).
  • Knowledge of perishable cutting tools, grinding wheels, fixtures, and abrasive products is a plus.
  • Computer skills preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, tool crib, or calibration environment is helpful but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a forklift license (training provided).
