Talascend is currently seeking a Fleet Operations Data Analyst for a contract opportunity in Foster City, CA.

SUMMARY:

As a Fleet Operations Data Analyst, you will work alongside Fleet Operations Managers to help harness the power of data to optimize the performance and efficiency of our autonomous vehicle fleet. You will be responsible for analyzing operational data, developing dashboards, and providing actionable insights that will drive strategic decisions and improve fleet readiness, safety, and service delivery. Your proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas), and data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI will be essential as you help transform raw data into meaningful insights that accelerate operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze fleet performance and operational data, uncover trends, and provide insights to improve fleet management and service efficiency. Create and maintain interactive dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics in real-time.
  • Collaboration with Fleet Operations Teams: Work closely with Fleet Operations Managers to understand operational challenges, identify areas for improvement, and ensure data-driven decision-making is embedded in the day-to-day operations of the autonomous fleet.
  • Data Processing & Cleanliness: Use SQL and Pandas to clean, process, and manipulate large datasets to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data used in analysis.
  • Visualization & Insights: Develop clear, concise visualizations and dashboards in Looker and Databricks to support operational decision-making. Ensure that these tools provide actionable insights for fleet managers, leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Operational Efficiency & Optimization: Identify patterns and inefficiencies in fleet operations, and propose data-driven solutions to improve fleet utilization, optimize maintenance schedules, and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests, performing targeted analyses to help answer key business questions or evaluate the impact of potential changes in fleet operations or strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analysis
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Python and Pandas for data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Experience creating and maintaining dashboards with tools like Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving and driving operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a diverse, non-technical audience.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for a non-technical audience.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity with machine learning or predictive analytics techniques to anticipate operational needs.
  • Knowledge of autonomous vehicle operations and fleet management best practices is a plus.
