Talascend is currently seeking a Product Engineer CAN/HIL for a contract opportunity located in Auburn Hills, MI.
OVERVIEW:
The Product Engineer will be responsible for full functional integration and calibration of electrical brake systems, meeting vehicle functional objectives and performance goals, and managing/ensuring completion of system level DVP&R. The candidate will lead low and high mu development with suppliers. Develop and execute plan to meet program milestones, regulatory requirements, and a successful launch. Lead cross functional teams with supplier to develop new ESC features to be implemented on new and current vehicles. Review product plans and platform bulletins regarding new program direction to assess impact to vehicle calibration.
Onsite 3-5 days per week.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- BSME, BSEE, BS in Computer Engineering/Science, or a BS in Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- 3+ years of experience with electronic data collection/logging and/or diagnostic tools (Vector CANAlyzer or another type of data logger) preferred. **Driving experience required.**
- Experience with Stability Control features traction control, anti-lock braking (5 years preferred).
- Experience with regenerative braking systems (desired).
- Experience with HIL testing/capabilities (desired).
- Must be capable of driving vehicles at, or above the limit of handling. (either on the job, Formula SAE, or BAJA).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to lead when required, proven team building skills.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Travel can be up to 25% as support of winter test track locations in Michigan's UP, Arizona, or other remote possibilities including out of country.
- Must possess a valid Drivers license with no driving restrictions.
