Talascend is currently seeking an SAP Project Manager for a contract opportunity based out of our client's operations in Newark, NJ.

Due to the nature of this work, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for consideration.  This role allows a hybrid work schedule (3 days/week WFH), so the ideal candidate lives a commutable distance to the office. However, provision for an exceptional, non-local candidate willing to travel to the site two weeks/month.

Overview

This role involves managing the modernization of an SAP ERP system to S4/HANA for a regulated utility client. The position requires exceptional project management skills leading large-scale IT projects involving internal teams and external vendors. 

Responsibilities

  • Direct project team personnel, manage cost and schedule, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Provide leadership to engage multidisciplinary teams and address business needs.
  • Guide project stakeholders through the project lifecycle, including scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Oversee project budgets, financial plans, and monthly forecasts.
  • Create project management plans and ensure governance reviews are conducted.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including onshore and offshore resources.
  • Ensure project requirements are documented and approved per standards.
  • Deliver high-quality written and verbal project communications.
  • Monitor tasks, timelines, milestones, and deliverable quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of project management experience with enterprise-level projects.
  • Expertise in handling project financials, schedules, scope, and testing.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and tools.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Utility industry experience.
  • SAP and PMP certification.
