Test Integration Engineer
OVERVIEW:
In this role, you will act as a Test integration Engineer for our client's large sodium test facility supporting the development of advanced nuclear reactor projects. The Test Integration Engineer will work as part of a high-performing team of engineers and scientists, using their testing experience to guide and inform the development of the new test facility. The prime responsibilities include coordinating engineers working on requirements, systems, components, and testing plans for critical components, ensuring the test facility is appropriately designed to execute its testing mission.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will serve as a test integration engineer supporting large component test facility design and deployment, with an emphasis on test and testing system design.
- Responsible for coordinating geographically diverse design team members to develop supporting design documentation. The team is composed of employees, subcontracted resources, partner employees, and customers.
- Develop, maintain, and refine plant level and system level requirement and specification documents, as well as support digital design tools and configuration management processes.
- Lead and support design reviews and resolution of cross functional technical concerns.
- Lead and support design of instrumentation for testing, based around data acquisition control hardware and software, to meet experimental test objectives.
- Lead and support the development and documentation of test plans, test designs and test procedures for experimental work in the large sodium test facility.
- Coalesce the work of multiple teams into single deliverables.
- Ensure smooth flow between design engineers and test engineers. Pro-actively identifying and closing gaps on either end.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of test engineering experience preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated experience working with alkali metals in a laboratory environment very highly preferred.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment or industrial environment.
- Experience in design and integration of data acquisition and control system platforms desired.
- Experience in design and application of experimental hardware, instrumentation, and engineering laboratory practices.
- Experience writing test plans, requirements and procedures.
- Experience with post-processing and documenting experiments.
- Experience in hands-on laboratory work (analytical methods, glovebox work, standard laboratory practices).
- Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists in a design environment to develop novel testing approaches and equipment.
- Ability to work on tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Ability to analyze, develop, and plan tests of highly complex equipment with limited design inputs.
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles, as well as knowledge of design control tools application on nuclear or similar complex industrial applications.
- Ability to deliver projects that include many competing objectives and design constraints, with ability to resolve conflicts between objectives.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work on tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Candidate must be a self-starter and possess ability to coordinate and lead a design team’s effort with minimal direction.
- Nuclear experience and working under a certified NQA-1 program preferred but not required.
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
