Talascend is currently seeking a highly motivated Facility Integration Engineer for a FULLY-REMOTE Long-Term Contract opportunity with a
well-known NUCLEAR Company. In this role, you will support
a large sodium test facility as part of a team developing advanced nuclear reactor project technologies.

OVERVIEW:

The Facility Integration Engineer will act as part of a high-performing team, coordinating engineers on systems, components, and testing plans to ensure the test facility is effectively designed to achieve its mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a facility integration engineer supporting large component test facility design and deployment, with a focus on mechanical system development.
  • Coordinate geographically diverse team members, including TerraPower employees, subcontractors, partners, and customers, to develop test facility design documents.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine plant and system-level requirement and specification documents, and support digital design tools and configuration management processes.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, addressing cross-functional technical concerns.
  • Design mechanical systems to support facility and testing operations, and document operational strategies, procedures, and facility operability assessments.
  • Integrate the work of multiple teams into single deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility or process engineering preferred.
  • Experience working in industrial environments, particularly with large-scale fluid testing or process systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to write operating plans and procedures.
  • Experience developing and installing new builds or modifications to testing or industrial facilities is highly desired.
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create novel testing approaches and equipment.
  • Proficiency in configuration management principles and design control tools for complex industrial applications.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to lead a design team with minimal direction.
  • Nuclear experience and familiarity with NQA-1 certification are preferred but not required.
  • Experience with alkali metals is a plus.
  • A high degree of trust, integrity, and respect, with a desire to foster teamwork.
