SUMMARY:
The main function of a Facilities Technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Sweeping and cleaning walkways, parking lots, and other paved areas
- Pressure washing surfaces as needed
- Maintaining cleanliness of waste disposal areas
- Cleaning and maintaining outdoor seating areas
- Keeping tools and equipment clean and properly stored
- Identifying and addressing potential hazards on the grounds
- Ensuring compliance with local ordinances and environmental regulations
- Proper handling and storage of chemicals and fuels
- Preparing grounds for changing seasons (winterizing, spring preparation)
- Adjusting maintenance routines based on weather conditions
- Maintaining logs of work performed
- Reporting issues or concerns to facility management
- Participating in facility-wide initiatives or events
- Coordinating with other facility staff for events or special requirements
- Interacting professionally with facility users or visitors
- Responding to groundskeeping requests or complaints
SKILLS:
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years experience required.
