Our client in Ladson, SC, is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for a 1st Shift, Direct Hire position. This role offers full benefits.

Summary:
  • Support Manufacturing Engineers in New Product Development at the Charleston Turbo Plant, specifically in the Assembly and Test Area.
  • Responsibilities include assisting with new equipment installations, modifying existing assembly stations, and troubleshooting assembly cells (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, tooling/fixturing).
  • Support Engineering Trial Builds on the Assembly Line and prepare these lines for new products.
  • Work closely with Plant TPM, Prototype Shop, External Suppliers for tooling designs, and outsourced components.
  • Assist with Capital Project Management across the Assembly & Test Area.
  • Train associates on new or modified workstations.
  • Update Control Documents and Station Documentation.
  • Be an independent self-starter who quickly learns the SAMS Integration/Interface System.
  • Possess medium-level electrical and controls skills, including input/output programming for stations and troubleshooting.
  • Flexibility is required due to upfits and new program installations occurring when assembly lines are available, often on weekends and during Holiday Outages.
  • Work with high-tech systems and automation on the lines, including vision systems, laser systems, torque tools, falsifying technology, and robots/cobots.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience, as long as it meets applicable regulations.
  • Requires 3-5 years of significant relevant work experience or specialized skills gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Top 3 Skills:
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience as a Mechatronics Technician in a high-volume assembly process.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with state-of-the-art technology on assembly lines.
  • A team player who is a fast learner, self-starter, and has a track record of success.
