Digital I&C Process Engineer

Overview
The Digital I&C Process Engineer will support the implementation of the Digital Component Software Quality Program for the Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment (MCRE), ensuring compliance with Department of Energy (DOE) requirements. This role involves developing and managing procedures, plans, and workflows to support the MCRE project and future licensing of the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) demonstration program.
Responsibilities
• Assess corporate digital procedures and tools for alignment with the MCRE digital component lifecycle process.
• Develop and implement procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training materials related to the digital component lifecycle, including digital-specific instructions for design control and configuration management.
• Author process documents, including procedures and plans, using project-specific requirements and methods.
• Develop training and familiarization materials to support digital component design and development.
• Coordinate cross-discipline procedure reviews and support tool implementation.
• Support change management and rollout of training and process updates.
• Review the digital development status of digital components in the MCRE non-nuclear scale mockup.
• Plan the transition of digital components from the mockup phase to quality implementation for MCRE deliverables.
• Assist in identifying and capturing digital equipment and associated configurations for MCRE use.
Requirements
• B.S. or higher in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• 3 years of nuclear energy engineering experience or 5 years of experience writing nuclear power plant procedures.
• 2 years of experience in NQA-1 Subpart 2.7.
• Preferred experience with IEEE 1012 or EPRI processes for digital component design, development, procurement, and delivery.
• Experience in writing guides or instructions to support processes and procedures.
• Experience in generating training material.
• Digital development experience, including requirement definition through testing.
• Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
• Familiarity with digital development support tools such as GitHub, Confluence, and Jira.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to procedural excellence.
• High degree of trust, integrity, and teamwork-oriented mindset.
