The BSG Development & Validation Engineer is responsible for designing and executing Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for propulsion system requirements testing. This role requires critical evaluation of requirements, selection of appropriate testing environments, and execution of validation activities for Electrified-Hybrid Propulsion System architectures.

The BSG Development & Validation Engineer is responsible for designing and executing Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for propulsion system requirements testing. This role requires critical evaluation of requirements, selection of appropriate testing environments, and execution of validation activities for Electrified-Hybrid Propulsion System architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute DVPs for propulsion system requirements testing.
- Critically evaluate requirements, develop DVPs, and carry out testing procedures.
- Identify the correct testing environment for each test case (HIL or vehicle).
- Conduct issue pre-analysis and propose possible solutions.
- Identify critical and corner-case maneuvers to uncover potential failures.
- Perform validation activities on Electrified-Hybrid Propulsion System architectures in both HIL and vehicle settings.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience (research graduate work may count towards experience).
- Experience in validating and releasing electric components for automotive applications.
- Strong leadership, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes for electrical components.
- 0-5% travel required (local, domestic, and international). Most travel is during the day to local labs, with some international travel to suppliers in Europe.
- Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience with component release processes.
- Knowledge of electrified powertrain propulsion systems.
- Familiarity with Power Electronics.
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green or Black Belt certification.
- Experience using Team Center and NX in a production release environment.
