We are currently seeking a Senior Seating Engineer, Trim and Foam Specialist. This position requires experienced professionals responsible for designing and developing foam and soft-trim for a world-class vehicle in terms of both styling and function. Our ideal candidates exhibit a can-do attitude and approach their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly, and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. They will also act as mentors to more junior engineers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a significant contributor to a world-class seating team.
- Create industry-leading seating systems, with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality.
- Contribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of trim and foam assembly’s for seating systems in the portfolio.
- Collaborate with trim shop and suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery of systems.
- Employ and develop effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the development.
- Provide input to the DREs in terms of foam and trim feasibility, attachment strategy, optimizations for weight/cost/performance/ and durability.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 7 years of demonstrated experience as a technical engineer leading trim and foam development projects for automotive seating systems.
- Must have been part of at least 2 full programs from start to finish.
- Proven knowledge of complete seat trim and foam systems with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution.
- Understanding of automotive seating trim and foam industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier competencies.
- Hands-on experience developing trim and foam DVP&Rs & DFMEAs.
- Experience establishing/improving technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP.
- Experienced in using CAD to create 2D/3D concept drawings for trim patterns and foam components, packaging layouts, and DFM studies, specifically with CATIA 3DX.
- The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience working in a cross-functional team involving multiple vehicle systems.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment.
- A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
- A practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical.
- Design experience operating with CATIA 3DX.
- Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) to communicate effectively with the different vehicle systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in science or in a relevant discipline.
