Test Technician
Talascend is seeking a professional, skilled individual for a Test Technician position located in San Carlos, CA.
As part of our Test & Diagnostic Engineering team, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our sensor pod serial production line, which targets a volume of 3 jobs per hour (3JPH). This is a hands-on role where you'll be the first line of defense for production line support, taking ownership of technical challenges to ensure optimal performance and high reliability. We're looking for motivated individuals with a proven ability to run the show, you would be leading troubleshooting efforts and driving production success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the sensor pod production line by troubleshooting and resolving issues to meet a volume of 3JPH.
- Design, build, validate, troubleshoot, and support automated test stations in both lab and high-volume production environments.
- Act as the first line of defense for production line support requests, solving problems independently and escalating only when necessary.
- Perform failure analysis and generate detailed reports to guide improvements.
- Test and troubleshoot prototype and production assemblies as needed.
- Create and refine test/process documentation, ensuring accuracy and continual improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize products for manufacturability and ensure quality standards.
- Maintain calibration and functionality of test equipment and lab tools.
- Follow detailed instructions and schematics to complete work assignments.
- Travel between work sites may be required.
Qualifications:
- AA or higher in electrical/electronics/mechanical technology, or equivalent.
- Technical support experience for prototype and high-volume manufacturing lines.
- Proven ability to take ownership of production line performance and resolve issues independently.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and/or engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with EE lab equipment (Digital Multimeters, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Experience assembling and repairing wiring harnesses.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience working with Cameras and Lidars.
- Familiarity with Linux and knowledge of Python.
- Automotive ECU test experience.
