Vehicle Technician
SUMMARY:
As a Vehicle Technician on the Prototyping team you will support the manufacture of wire harnesses, complete short runs of electrical and mechanical assemblies, and assist other teams to develop and update our Client's autonomous vehicles. A strong understanding of electrical circuits, networks and the ability to troubleshoot these is a must.
You will work together with many different teams, so a positive attitude, the desire to learn as well as teach and a passion for your work, are key. Development can be a rocky path, so being able to accept rapid changes and a sense of humor will serve you well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build complex electrical components with minimal instructions
Manufacture and rework wiring harnesses large and small
Assist in root cause and repair of components returned from the field or testing
Provide feedback to engineering on new assemblies
Complete final software and quality checks prior to releasing vehicles
Balance multiple projects and deal with sudden changes in priority
Regularly organize and maintain your workspace
Use of appropriate PPE
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years related experience or an Associates degree and 2 years job experience
Excellent communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira and Confluence
Detail oriented and a drive to deliver a high level quality to every project
Ability to understand technical diagrams, schematics, wire lists and formboards
Comfortable with specialized hand and power tools
Experience with diagnostic tools, SMT/PTH soldering, DVOM, power supplies and oscilloscopes
Strong problem solving skills
PREFERRED:
IPC-620 Certification or wire harness manufacturing experience
ASE certifications
EPA 609 certification
Basic SolidWorks/ CATIA experience
Automotive high voltage experience/ training
Fabrication experience
