Talascend is currently seeking a Commercial Electrical Mechanics for a contract opportunity in Gibsonton FL
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe learning environment by ensuring all fire alarm systems are fully operational and compliant with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance: Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, and signaling devices.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues with fire alarm systems, ensuring minimal disruption to school operations.
Compliance: Ensure all fire alarm systems comply with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and codes.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with fire alarm systems, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
